Dallas County Community College District (DCCCD), Project Still I Rise,
Inc., and The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD), along with other
community partners, are planning the second annual African American Male Academic Bowl. This event targets participation from
students, 4th through 7th grade to be held on the campus of North Lake College, 5001 North MacArthur Boulevard, Irving, TX 75038. The bowl will take place on January 28th, 2012. The registration fee is $100.00.
The AAMAB is an academic tournament that invites teams to compete in a jeopardy style format. Each team will consist of three (3) students and one (1) coach. There are two student categories: 4th – 5th grades and 6th – 7th grades. This academic tournament is designed as a single elimination competition that will quiz two teams at a time within a designated time frame. The winners from both categories will meet in the championship round. The winning teams will receive special awards.
